Recorder Of Things

He suddenly wants to go out to record all the flowers, birds and minibeast that he can find in the park. We found a magpie, aphids, ants, daisies, alliums, poppies, bees and a robin.
He wrote their names, an illustration of how they look like and the how many he saw.

He writes like Him, mouth moving while scribbling the pen hard on paper.
Sometimes I wish that I wont notice the traits that he got from him but he is his father.
I have this resolution that I would look beyond those traits and see him as a different person from me or his father because he is.
Although at the back of my head I know that nature is strong and he would get so many more traits.
The most that I fear that he would get from him is cancer. We are planning on living healthier.
He promised to eat more veggies and fruits and he is trying. We are trying to always go out to walk, climb trees, make sand angels.
And this, record nature.

He is going to be 7 soon. Can you really beat cancer by eating healthy early? Not get it at all if your body is strong?
By moving more early? I dont know. But what I know is that I need to try, now.
I need to do something. Little things that I feel would help him when he is older.
I just want him to grow older and experience more of life. Record more things, explore more places.
And I will be here rocording him record nature around him.

Lovely photos Merlinda, he looks so intent and interested. Wonderful.
The best we can do is take care of ourselves, eat well, exercise. We can't know what will happen, but we can give ourselves the best possible chance x

Trust that the research is moving so quickly that for one so young it will be a different story - otherwise you'll make yourself sick with worry. Gorgeous, peaceful child - Lydia C. Lee

Healthy
I do think it helps when it comes to any illness to be as healthy as you can. Sometimes genetics does win. Let's just cross our fingers that it doesn't in that case. Stay healthy and strong handsome boy!

Hi Merlinda, I bet you got tummy flutters watching your son take notes of everything around him. I am no expert on healthy, but it does sound like you are taking the right approach to being healthy. Don't let the C word scare you too much though! Just be aware.

Gorgeous pics of him as usual. Traits are a funny thing aren't they. Weird to see which they get naturally or not #livingarrows

Such a thoughtful lad and I love his interest in nature and being outdoors. As for Cancer, you can only be doing the right thing by living a healthy life, the rest is beyond anyone's control.

Thank you for joining me for #CountryKids

Great photos. Fab idea to record what he sees around him. We must start doing that. It's great that you're managing to get him to have a healthy lifestyle. So many children can't think ahead where their health is concerned. Hugs x
